GOAL chosen by UN and US to distribute
more aid in Haiti
GOAL has been chosen by the World Food
Programme (United Nations) and USAID (US Government) to distribute
extensive quantities of food and non-food items to a substantial
number of the 1.5 million vulnerable inhabitants of Port-au-Prince.
GOAL has been active in the relief effort for the past three weeks
and intends to support 250,000 people over the coming months.
“We view this development as a solid vote of confidence in
the GOALies and their work by two major international aid institutions.
It means any problems in relation to accessing supplies for the
vulnerable have been solved,” stated GOAL CEO, John O’Shea.
